As you enter Random Island from the Hefferton Causeway, the first community is Random Heights. The Dean, Simmons and Walters’s families first settled this community in 1974. This tiny community has approximately 10 houses with most of the residents being related somehow.

Other families built in the community but presently, there is no available land to expand the community. The community has always been close knit so when it came time to name the community, each family submitted a name. Drawing an entry from a hat made the decision, with Random Heights as the winning entry.

This tiny town offers a quiet, tranquil lifestyle, yet it’s close proximity to the Town of Clarenvillle, allow residents to avail of needed services and employment opportunities in a much bigger center. The town has garbage pick up, as well as the services of a Volunteer Fire Department.
